The Long Beach Creative Group gallery is looking for local candidates for a new ocean-themed exhibition • the Hi-lo
As its title suggests, this exhibition has for theme everything related to the ocean through paintings, drawings, sculptures and / or mixed media.
“The LBCG Board of Directors is eager to see how its community experiences the ocean, whether imaginative, nautical, scientific (environmental, biological, ecological) or for entertainment,” the collective said in a statement. .
Although artists have the freedom to create, they request that the submitted works be for sale, “at a reasonable price”, produced within the past five years and ready for the gallery.
The call is open to any artist who lives or grew up in Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood and San Pedro. Students and alumni of Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College are also welcome to apply. There is an entry fee of $ 16 and artists can submit up to three works.

A panel of judges yet to be determined will decide which pieces will be part of the final exhibition, a strategy employed for the gallery’s last open exhibition, “Coming Together: An Exhibition of Small Works”, which featured 85 pieces selected from 465 entries. submitted by 190 local artists.
The exhibition will be visible Thursday to Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from November 7 to December 5. No appointment is required.
