Google Data Analytics Certificate Graduates Can Now Earn Credits Toward Miami Dade College Degree
Miami Dade College Approves Data Analytics Diploma Credits for Program Graduates and Incorporates Google Certificate into Curriculum
MIAMI, June 13, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC) students and professionals who pass Google’s Data Analysis Certificate are now eligible for 12 college credits toward a bachelor’s degree in data analytics from MDC. In addition, MDC integrates the Google Data Analytics certificate into the licensing courses.
“We are expanding our partnership with Grow with Google to provide students and the community with new pathways to careers in data science, one of the fastest growing fields in technology,” said Madeline Pumariega, President of the MDC.
The Google Data Analytics certificate is offered by Coursera. The program includes over 180 hours of instruction and hundreds of practice-based assessments, which help students simulate real-world data analysis scenarios that are essential for success in the workplace. The content is highly interactive and exclusively developed by Google employees with decades of experience in data analysis. Through a mix of videos, assessments, and hands-on labs, students are introduced to analytics tools and platforms and key analytical skills required for entry-level employment.
Graduates of the Google Data Analytics Certificate will be eligible to receive credits from the following courses after enrolling in the Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics program at MDC:
- CAP 1788 – Introduction to data analysis (4 credits)
- CAP 4936 – Special Topics in Data Analysis (8 credits)
On the other hand, students enrolled in the Bachelor program will have the opportunity to complete the Google Data Analytics certificate free of charge within the 3 courses listed above.
