A 10-mile-long sale in Maine is a shopping adventure
Even though over the past year we’ve learned that we can order just about anything and have it shipped right to us, there is still something exciting about a flea market or garage sale. .
As you walk from table to table (or cardboard box to cardboard box), there’s something exciting about the fact that you never know what you’re going to find. Antique furniture, toys from your childhood, old video game systems, grandmother’s porcelain, etc. On top of that, you never know what kind of amazing deals you are going to find.
If garage sales are your thing, you really need to check out what is probably the biggest garage sale in New England. In fact, it may be the biggest garage sale in the whole country!
According to Only in your state, The Cornville 10 Mile Yard sale will take place on May 22 and 23. The event typically takes place along a 10 mile loop on Route 150 to Skowhegan and West River Road.
The event started in the 1980s with only a few people attending, but has grown considerably over time. Now it not only covers Cornville, but also encompasses Athens and Skowhegan.
Normally, Nelson’s Candies on West Ridge Road in Cornville takes part in the event. No word on their participation or not this year. You can always consult their website for updates on what they are doing …
Obviously, with the pandemic going on, there will certainly be changes to the same this year. You can keep up to date with everything that is happening by following their Facebook page.
